Okay – well that is not exactly true… But Jamie suggested it & I couldn’t pass it up. I suppose that at one point this little crocodile was out in the wild.. but there was no spearing or wrestling to get it on my plate. Sorry, folks. Yes, I live in Africa, but that is a little extreme.
Tonight I got to celebrate Chris’ birthday with him, Jamie & Emily at a Brazilian restaurant. The restaurant looks like it would be pronounced: fogo gaucho (you know those cool pants we all used to wear), but if you speak Portuguese (like Ester) it becomes some wonderful exotic name that doesn’t even bring a picture of those gaucho pants to mind.
And can I just take the time to say that I have the best supervisor ever & his family is wonderful. I couldn’t have asked for better people to be leading me during my time here. So it is necessary for me to say Happy Birthday to Chris (or as I like to call him, mzee)
Okay – anyways, Chris made me try the crocodile. I tried not to picture a crocodile (or alligator for that matter – since I can’t tell the difference) & put a piece in my mouth. I have to say that it was pretty tasty! But even tastier (grammar has flied out the window…) was the fried banana. Yes. fried banana. I think I lost track of how many I had.
So I have eaten crocodile. On to the next agenda…
I have to say I am a little sad that their tour dates doesn’t bring Neulore & Stephen Gordon to a coffee shop in Kenya… so since I won’t be able to make it back to Spencer’s tonight… I am going to need you all to go see Neulore & Stephen Gordon at the best coffee shop in BG. Your ears & coffee cravings will be satisfied.
& also – I have been listening to this almost all night. Please enjoy with me – I apologize that it is not Stephen or Neulore – but it’s pretty great:
